Property File Request Form

To request a property file you will need to know the address of the property and pay in advance any fees if your request involves a large property file that requires considerable time to prepare. Your request will be processed upon confirmation of payment. The property file will be available within 3 – 5 working days and will be sent to you by e-link once ready. You will receive confirmation of your request and a reference number.

Property files contain information such as building consents, resource consents, flooring and drainage plans. All property files are required to be quality assured by Council staff in advance of being ready for you to view. Large or very complex property files may incur a fee for the time it takes to quality assure and prepare for viewing.

Council’s fees and charges are as follows:

• $34.00 – Simple property file (electronic and viewed at counter)
• $68.00 – Complex property file (electronic and viewed at counter) e.g. complex industrial business or industrial establishment
• $36.00 – Material cost e.g. USB including postage
• Other charges e.g. scanning, printing etc may apply as per the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 section in the fees and charges schedule.

Please note:

• Property file requests may take three to five working days to process. Once ready, we will send you a link to the online property viewer.
• Large or complex property file requests may incur a fee in line with our fees and charges schedule for the administration of processing the file for viewing. For more information click here.

• The information contained in a property file may not represent all the information we hold for a property. A property file is not a Land Information Memorandum (LIM) and should not be used as one.
